Destiny?

I have this yarn...

And I can't figure out what it wants to be.

See here is the story: last summer I was dyeing yarn and my then 7 year old daughter wanted to "help." Figuring I knew what kind of help she would give me, I ended up giving her this super fine, greyish whiteish blah wool yarn that I was given that I didn't think I'd ever use.

I really expected her to make something that turned out brown. But no, she made this fabulous, gorgeous blue/green yarn. Now I wish it had been something useful.

So, now what do I do with it? DD can knit, but she's never going to knit with laceweight yarn. There's no nylon in it so I really don't want to make socks out of it. I'm stumped.

Speaking of socks...

Here's where I am now on my current sock. This is the first one. The yarn is Lana Grossa Meilenweit Fantasy (4750). I kind of based them on Thuja but my gauge is much smaller, so they're modified a great deal.

I love them. They make me hope it gets cold soon so I can wear my new woolen socks. With my Birks. I might even finish the second one for the occasion.

STRIPES!

The striped sweater is finished!

I designed and knit this sweater last year, and loved it, except that I didn't like how the ribbing around the arms came out. My tubular bind off sucked and the ribbing was too short. I think I wore it twice and then stuffed it away.

It is a huge PITA to take out tubular bind off, by the way. But I got it out on one side, and then I needed those needles for soakers and then I (avoided) didn't get around to finishing the darned thing because I was dreading taking out the second side.

Here it is finally finished, though. I love it :)

Camera in the shop

Well the bitty baby socks and hat are off to their new home, but unfortunately I lost the picture to my camera that broke. We got the camera fixed but the pics that were on it are gone :(

Maybe their new mommy will send me a pic...

Meanwhile I'm making soaker progress. I LOVE these:

And the back: They were fun to make! The yarn is Paternayn that I've had around.

And then there's these:

The green pair are by request, the blue pair is just stock. They are both Peace Fleece, colors Baikal/Superior Green and Shaba. I think they look great together.

Once they're completely dry the blue one is getting some embellishment, but I'm keeping that to myself (cause I might end up changing it lol)

Progress

I thought I'd post an update.

The headscarf is done and in the mail :)

I started Caitie's wrap, I *think* it's going to look cool. Right now it looks like green, fuzzy, cooked noodles LOL!

I think it's an ingenious design though, simple and elegant. I have 2 wedges done, 16 to go. I called it 10% because I always forget about finishing...

And I'm working on Max's shorties, they're going well, although I realized I didn't end up writing down the pattern I used for Victoria's longies so I'm having to figure it out again. Not too bright.
